After 61 years of Independence, undoubtedly 61 years of progress, the aspirations are still mounting that India should become a developed country. This vision is still a vision unaccomplished.

We strongly feel that a strong partnership among all Indians is essential to accomplish the vision in the mission mode. A mission to do everything possible on the three human development fronts- Health, Education & Employment.

We are a nation of billion people1,129,866,154 (July 2007 est.)[According to https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/print/in.html ]. The nation is still going through a major challenge of 26 crore people, who are below poverty line and 37 crore people who are not literate. They need habitat, they need food, they need health care, education an employment. In short they need a good life. Our GDP is growing at app. 8% per annum on an average, but economist suggest that,to uplift the people below poverty line, our economy has to grow at the rate of 10% perannum for consistently for over a decade. Then it is possible for India to get developed economically and the billion people feel and share the prosperity of the nation.

What we feel, this development is most dependent on our youth. More than 36 crore of Indians comprises of youth.Economical development is directly dependent on the youth employment. For youth good employment is not just a source of income, but also mattter of dignity and self-respect. Unemployment leads to frustration matter low self-esteem. Unemployment is the greatest threat to economic efficiency that also leads to social instability.

There has been a substantial growth in higher education system and we are generating 8 million graduates every year. However our employment generation system is not in a position to absorb the graduates passing out of the universities leading to increase in educated unemployed, year after year. There is a large mismatch between the skills required for modern economy and the education imparted to most of the student. In addition Economic growth and investments have not kept pace with the availability of human resource leading to instability in social structure.

Now I would highlight Entrepreneurship, that is only viable solution to waxing problem.

We had four decades of romance with socialist ideologies and had many disappointment.

In view of increasing unemployment, the promotion of self-employment was adopted as one of the main planks of policy during 6th 5-year plan. Since then, we espouse the free market system as the means to the better life of our people. This ideology came to us more by default than by design.

With the drift toward liberalization and globalization and job market getting stagnent in developing country like INDIA, Entrepreneurship is the solution of unemployment and plays an important role by contributing to the economy. India has ample opportunities for innovations to exploit the available resources and initiate entrepreneurial ventures.

But still there is a paradox that exist in terms of increasing number of unemployed population seeking job opting wage earner's career, unaware of wide opportunities of the most lucrative career called Entrepreneurship.

This is by and large, because of lack of education about Entrepreneurship. The present education system has not been able to promote independent thinking, creativity, the spirit of innovation and motivation for setting a challenging and achievable goal. The Indian environment however offers diverse opportunities for sustaining self-employment to ensure contribution of workforce to industrial economy. There is thus, a need to inculcate the spirit of enterprise into the psyche of present generation.

We should integrate entrepreneurship with existing education system as a terminal intervention.

I felt very happy, when I came to know that even UGC has also given emphasis on introduction on career oriented courses in 10th 5 year plan and encourage all the affiliated colleges to create career guidance and entrepreneurship development cell.

And

WHY NOT!

Look at the pillar of American capitalist system. It is based on the success of corporate world including innovative entrepreneurs. Their societies encourage and nurture such industrious dreams.
