Being a student of life, I learn from every single day in my life. And you know very well, that I try to share what I am learning as much as possible. That’s why I am writing this post to share with you some interesting experiences I had in last few days ( 9th – 12th May’15), and the lessons I learned from those experiences. Quite an interesting mix it was – starting from Rabindra Jayanti Celebration at a close friend’s home, meeting 37 amazing Kolkata Bloggers at #KolBloggersMeet , meeting school friend (actually 1 batch senior) after 5 years, spending a day each with two people I’ve met on Social Media, being invited to tea with US Consul General and Other Digital Marketing professionals from Kolkata, enjoying first ride with Uber and feeling Earthquake tremor for the second time in life. এই কদিনের এত গল্প, দেখি কতটা লিখতে পারি .
As I say good bye to 2014 and welcome 2015 wishing you a very Happy New Year, I want to take some time to review 2014. I want to evaluate the resolutions I took and see how many I could successfully continue and where I had failed. Also I want to jot down the lessons learned in 2014, so that I (and as I am sharing, I hope you too) can use these lessons to make coming years far more productive and fulfilling. This 2014 has been really a turning point in my life, for the first time I will be sharing with you lots of sneak peak into my personal ups and downs.
I guess you know how much I love movies! While most people watch movies for Entertainment and others think that movies are waste of time, I watch movies to learn life lessons too. Infact I’ve learned many valuable lessons from different movies I watched. Wish I could share all those lessons with you (may be I will someday). But today let me share lessons from 3 South Indian movies I watched recently – Kick, Nayak and Mirchi. Keep reading, I am sure you’d love it.
I just opened Facebook and read some very shocking news. “Indian-origin tech CEO Gurbaksh Chahal ducks jail despite beating girlfriend 117 times”. It came as a shock to me because, I was following him on Facebook and admired him as an inspiring Entrepreneur. From 335K followers on his Facebook page and 140K followers on his Twitter profile (both verified), you can guess that I am not the only one inspired by him, and shocked after reading this news. Though he claimed that all these allegations are false on Twitter. But I am not writing this post to judge him or support him. Rather I am writing this post so that we all can learn some lessons from this incident, to live our best lives.
Few days back when I was writing the post on MeetUp Magic , I was really really hoping for many more meetup experiences. In 2014 I took a resolution to take my Social Networking activities to offline meetings also. So when I got the chance to meet Kolkata Bloggers at a Bloggers meet organized by Aviva India, I was really very excited. Though I’ve met Twitter friends and Facebook friends earlier but never attended any blogger meet before. And as I am resuming my blogging after 3-4 years, I was bit hesitant also to join. But then again, as I teach people to get out of comfort zone, I followed my own advice and went there. Trust me the experience was beyond my expectation. Let me tell you the whole story.
What is Meetup? Meetup is a formal/ informal get together, where people who know/doesn’t know each other online can meet in person. Do you meet your online friends offline? No matter whether you are using Social Networks for just making new friends or for building meaningful connections as a professional, you should consider attending Meetup.
