Give Warmth 2018

Make a Difference on Makar Sankranti by Distributing Food, Old Clothes and Money to Deprived

Winter is here and life is extremely challenging for those who don’t have proper clothes or necessary foods to survive. Maybe, we can’t end poverty in the world but might help these few people who wait at the same place every year on the same day, expecting help from good folks like you.

A group of youth (and elders too) will be there to do their bit, like last 7-8 years.

You can join them at Gandhighat, Midnapur Town, West Bengal on 14th January 2018 around 9 am (Makar Sankranti).

You can bring any/some/all of the followings:

  • Food (Preferably bread, rice, muri etc)
  • Old clothes
  • Warm clothes
  • Blankets

If you want to donate money to buy foods & warm clothes for them, please contact Santanu Das at +9191536 74683.

Why and How we Started

Every year on the holy day of Makar Sankranti there is a ritual in Midnapur Town, to help some poor & deprived people who wait near Gandhi Ghat.

Many kind people spread out their helping hand individually, many as groups or organisations like Jagannath Mandir Sanskar Committee.

I went there with my parents a few years back (2010) & found a shocking scenario- VERY FEW YOUTH WERE PARTICIPATING IN THIS SOCIAL WORK.

I came back & talked to my young friends & business partners, and we went there to spread our helping hands and set an example. This group continued that #GiveWarmth initiative every years from then.
